Math Chandipur, Purba Medinipur

The Math at present

The premises of Ramakrishna Math Chandipur seems to be a charming garden for visitors who take a break from the otherwise prevailing chaos outside. It is located in the village of Chandipur in the Tamluk sub-division of the district of East Midnapore, West Bengal. It is easy to reach Chandipur on the Kolkata-Digha route by road.

The Ramakrishnaganj market place at Chandipur

The Math is a two-minute walk from the Chandipur market area/bus stop. The market is known as Ramakrishnaganj where one can find quite a number of shops bearing the name of Sri Ramakrishna or Holy Mother Sarada Devi. Or else, one can reach Mecheda on the Howrah-Kharagpur section and take a bus to Digha, Bajkul or Contai to reach Chandipur on the way. The Howrah-Digha railway passes near Chandipur but there is no station at Chandipur. The nearest station is Laban Satyagraha at Ishwarpur.

The main gateway and the temple of Sri Ramakrishna
